"Getting Any Work Done?" The Reality of 12-Hour Work Days - Different Hunger

About this video
It's 11PM on Tuesday here in Medellín and I'm just now wrapping up my second 12 hour workday in a row. It's funny because I'll talk to my friends on Facebook and they'll tell me, "Colombia looks awesome! Are you actually getting any work done?" I laugh and tell them, yes, that's pretty much all I've been doing. I moved down here with one web design client, that's it. As soon as I got here, it wasn't party time (despite me wanting to down some aguardiente), it was time to get to work. To be honest, it was pretty stressful... But then I started meeting guys, living my dream, as I mentioned in my last video, and I became even more and more motivated. Then I reminded myself that I purposely put myself in this position. I wanted to cut all safety nets (ie. a steady paycheck) in order to force myself to be uncomfortable. I wanted to leave myself with two options: 1) succeed or 2) fail hard, fail fast and learn from it It's a bit stressful sure, but it's even more exhilarating. In the last 2 weeks, I've spoken to 30 multi-millionaires, best-selling authors and professional athletes, and there's ONE piece of advice that keeps coming up... You've heard it from me before... Just. Take. Action. Don’t talk yourself out of doing THAT thing. Don’t tell yourself you’re not ready. There’s never a perfect moment. Just do it. Look - maybe you’ll end up like me. Maybe your business will fail and you’ll end up in Colombia.. where it’s 75 degrees every day.. that wouldn’t be so bad would it? :) I'm working on some super exciting things (which is why I've been speaking to these world-class individuals) currently that I can't wait to share with you... so it is about 11 o'clock here in Med jeene and uh I'm just finally wrapping up my work for the day uh it's been about a 12 and a half hour workday uh yesterday was was the same and it's funny because my friends on Facebook uh they'll they'll ask me how's Columbia looks like you're having a great
time um are you getting any work done and I'll tell them I'll say look uh despite the pictures and the Instagrams um that's about all I'm doing currently um because a lot of you guys don't know this but when I left for Columbia and currently as well as of today um I only have one uh web design
client so that's my only primary source of income right now uh other than a few kind of minor things uh on the side um so when I first got here uh it wasn't really party party party it was it was actually kind of stressful because uh you know I wanted to let loose I wanted to go out
experience the city wanted to drink uh a guardian which is the uh the liquor here that everyone drinks um but in the back of my mind all I could think about was get to work get to work make money make money um so that was a little bit stressful I have to admit and um so so that
was my kind of mindset when I first got here um but then I started meeting uh meeting the individuals who I had anticipated that I would meet when I moved down here uh those people who are already running online businesses um and some of these guys are just absolutely killing it um so when I when I when
I met those people and again that was the primary reason that I came here to surround myself with these types of individuals um and when I met when I met these people you know my dreams and my aspirations that I'm working towards uh they're not just abstract things they're they're very real they're very tangible and they meeting
these people just motivated me so much um and on top of that I had to remind myself look you know Matt you put yourself in this position you know um I I I quit my job and I purposely um put myself in this position because I wanted to make myself feel uncomfortable I wanted to cut the safety
nets of a paycheck and I wanted to leave myself with two options uh one to either succeed or two uh to fail hard and fast as I have done uh before with my failed business uh but but then if I'm failing hard and fast then just learn from it and and start over um and over the last
two weeks uh with about 30 multi-millionaires bestselling authors professional athletes people who are just world class and by the way I'm super super pumped uh to share uh with you what I'm working on um but anyway so in speaking with these people I I've just been asking them for advice um and there's two or sorry there's one
piece of advice that keeps coming up again and again and again and that advice which I've spoken about uh before in my uh previous videos and posts is take action um and again this this advice is coming from people who are much much more successful than me and people who some of you guys recognize as very successful
individuals you know uh professional athletes um multi-millionaires New York Times bestselling authors so these people know what they're talking about and there's absolutely value in this advice um so this act this this advice of take action um it's just a matter of not making any more excuses not telling yourself that you're not ready um as I discussed
in in my previous post you know there's never going to be a perfect moment so just do it and look maybe you'll end up like me maybe your business will fail and you'll end up in Columbia and uh you'll end up in Columbia where it's 75 degree weather every day so it wouldn't be that bad um but
but yeah I just wanted to share that advice with you and look I am super super excited to share with you what I have uh coming um not too long from now but uh but yeah that's about it for tonight and I'll talk to you guys soon
Keep going
